Fissler Blue Point pressure cookers combine healthy nutrition with gentle cooking, since atmospheric oxygen is expelled and the cooking periods are quite short. Vitamins and minerals, as well as nutrients and flavor, are thus preserved. You can see and taste the difference. With Blue Point, you save up to 70% of the regular cooking time and as much as 50% of the energy traditionally used in cooking. Blue Point pressure cookers have two pressure levels, a gentle pressure level for cooking delicate food like vegetables and fish without destroying nutrients, and a speed pressure level for cooking meats and stews quickly. Blue Point pressure cookers are very unique in that they are completely silent. There is no unnerving rattling or hissing while pressure is inside. Once the oxygen is expelled and the valve locks into place, hardly any steam escapes into the air during the cooking process keeping the kitchen cooler. Because there is no steam, there are no cooking odors. Blue Point pressure…
This pressure cooker is gorgeous, looks like it'll last at least a couple of lifetimes, and is completely silent unlike the jiggle-top cooker it replaces. Amazon isn't giving these things away, but it's worth the money on esthetic and practical grounds.Update two years on: As solid as these look, the plastic parts get brittle with repeated use, and will require replacement. Fissler commits to making parts available for ten years after the purchase date, so the expected lifetime of the cooker is probably not much more than that. I still like this, but I can't consider it a good value for money. When you do need to buy replacement parts, I advise you to buy from fisslerstore in North Carolina - they are businesslike. The warranty agent in Los Angeles is unreliable.

i never thought i would own a pressure cooker till i needed something to cut down the amount of time it takes to make corned beef. 45 minutes instead of 4 hours? i'm in.the blue point is quiet and efficient, providing the ultimate environment for corned beef, stews, beans, you name it.i remember the pressure cooker my parents used as a rattling hissing behemoth that could be heard all over the house. the blue point is quiet and can barely be heard from the next room when fully pressurized.also, releasing the pressure when the timer goes off is as easy as pushing an ergonomically positioned button. this device is worth the money and clearly will be something i can pass on to my daughter.

I have the 2.5l Braiser and 6l pot as well and don't regret spending extra for the Kuhn Rikon brand. I never used pressure cookers before and now I find myself planning all my meals around this appliance and can have all 3 going at once. The mechanisms are flawless, clean up is a breeze and this size can easily hold a good Sunday roast. These are gorgeous pots that look good on a stove top and to keep them looking good I store the lid upside down in the pot with a towel between them so the metal cannot mark. I also keep the rubber gasket in the pot while it's not in use, it's quick and easy to pop it into the lid when the time comes.

The Fissler Blue Point pressure cooker is one of the best pressure cookers out there. Having used this cooker in cooking class with Lars Liebisch, this is not just your mother's old pressure cooker. It has superb features, for example the blue dot lets you know how much pressure is in the pot, the handle locks in place so it cannot be opened at pressure, and the release valve mixes air with the hot steam so that it doesn't burn. Cleaning this pot is a breeze, even old burned in char can be removed quickly with a little stainless steel polish, making the pot look like new all over again. The Set provides the cook with two invaluable pots, the skillet and the large cooker. The skillet has an extraordinary versatility of use, from frying or steaming veggies to pressure cooking a casserole, combined with the pot, its hands down the best value out there for a lifetime investment.

This 23 5/8 inch X 5 7/8 inch Mauviel copper fish poacher has numerous benefits. Constructed of solid copper, this fish poacher is lined with tin for safe poaching. The poacher comes with a lid and a two-handled, stainless steel rack for supporting the fish and removing it easily. The outer surface is hand-hammered for a beautiful finish. The three handles are made of heavy, rounded brass and are firmly affixed with solid copper rivets for durability.
I was asked to review a poaching pan for a senior officer of the AmaZoo. I have used only five, one of which was diamond shaped for turbot and the like, so I write from limited experience. I can begin with size. If you want to do whole fish poaching, use this double burner design, especially in the smaller sizes. In the large sizes, the prices of copper and non copper strangely converge. Unfortunately, for home use copper is several times the price of other metals. But it is precisely the smaller sizes that beg for copper. When your fish is thicker in the middle than at either end, yet still too long for your stove's burner, how do you get a low even temperature with a gentle flow of poaching broth? You use two burners. The copper does wonders to keep smaller volumes of stock at low even temperatures better than any other metal, especially up the sides. The idea is not so much too cook your fish as to warm it into a receptive state for your highly flavored stock, while contributing its own fluids to the mixture. The mistake is too high a temperature. The faster you cook the fish, the less the effect of the stock. The thinner the fish, the lower the temperature. And start with cool room temperature fish, not straight out of the refrigerator. The internal temperature should be 120 degrees, maybe 125, and 130 tops. So if your broth covers the fish by an inch, 130-145 degrees is good for a thin fish. Use a thermometer for both the broth and the internal probing. A thick fish will…

I just got my pressure cooker today. I have not used it yet, but am disapointed in the size as it was described in the description. It reads: Product DescriptionIf you cook for a crowd try the Kuhn Rikon Duromatic 12-Quart Hotel Pressure Stockpot, large enough to deliciously cook a 17-20 pound turkey. I do not think that is even close to accurate. I opened up the pan, and took a 12 pound turkey that i have in the freezer, I think it might fit if it is thawed and I squash it in the pressure cooker. I am not sure how the claim that a 17-20 pound turkey could fit in it can be made???

It is my first try at a memory foam bed and I was not disappointed! I tried out a memory foam before (Tempurpedic)that my nephew has. It was really nice to sleep on, but I knew that it was so expensive to get one and my mattress was one of those coil spring varieties that was cheap. When I saw this on here, after deciding that I could not go on with my old mattress anymore, (at a much cheaper price than my old spring mattress)I decided to give it a try.I was sleeping much better and there is no heat build-up, but there is a slight odor that I could live with and my sense of smell is way beyond sensitive. I have had it for a few months and it is just fantastic!

Fissler's Blue Point Pressure Pan set does it all. It grills, sears, frys, saute's, steams, braise, and pressure cooks. This set includes the 1) pressure skillet, 2) the pressure lid, 3) wire basket, and 4) glass lid. The pressure skillets' 10.2" diameter and 4.2 quart capacity makes it versatile enough to cook smaller meals but large enough to handle family dinners too. The interior of the skillet features the Novagrill surface. The honeycomb texture keeps food from sticking with much less oil than convential pans. But unlike non-stick pans, foods come out beautifully browned. The Novogrill surface works in conjunction with the CookStar all-stove base. The CookStar base guarantees even heat distribution without hotspots. And the CookStar base means the Fissler Pressure Skillet can be used on any heat source, including induction ranges. The Blue Point Pressure Pan exceeds the minimum safety requirements of Europe and the United States with innovative features such as the patented…

Let me start from the top. $500 is not too much to pay for this item. I did not believe that when I got it as part of a promo. I would cheerfully part with the money to replace it now.Who wants a Dutch Oven? On stove top, oven, slow cooking, stews, chili, chicken with vegis, pot roast, etc. the product (i.e., the food cooked in this baby) comes out better than I have ever seen. You will start making up new dishes to make further use of its seemingly endless possibilities.Get one and love it.

while this kuhn rikon is certainly pricey compared to other cookers, the quality and elegance is unsurpassed by anything out on the market. i really like the shape of this particular model because it allows me to easily braise and cook whole pork loins or roasts since the opening is flatter and shallower then KR's other models. Kuhn also sells a pyrex glass lid that fits on this cooker so it can be pressed into service as a giant saucepan or skillet, or for bringing food directly to the table in the pot. this cooker is almost always used in our kitchen for meal preparation - can't imagine life without it!

I learned about Duromatic Pressure Cookers while visiting Switzerland. The home kitchens I visited had two or three sizes of Duromatic (Kuhn Rikon) pressure cookers, even though kitchens and stoves are smaller than the average U.S. kitchen. It is all about energy savings and speed for efficiency minded Swiss households. It makes so much sense for our family when we come home late and want to have good food fast, instead of "fast food". Main courses like stew and split pea soup are possible in minutes instead of hours. Artichokes cook faster this way than any other.Besides being an energy-efficient way to cook fast and well, these pots are great just used in the conventional way. The interchangeable glass lid allows you to boil pasta in one pot while pressure cooking the meat or sauce in the other, using the pressure lid.We have had the old type American aluminum pressure cookers with the noisy and scary sounding pressure relief system. We have all heard stories of exploding pressure cookers, but this problem has been overcome years ago with the new safe systems invented by the Swiss. This Duromatic is the new age of safety and convenience and it is super quiet...At this price it is a bargain and if you added an inexpensive non-stick omelette pan you would have all the cookware needed.
